Platform: Windows 2003 servers

Application: Daily feed of financial transactions via FTP from individual in country servers to Central European server in UK. Consolidated on UK server and sent via FTP to US mainframe.

Issue: Ensuring all country files have been received before consolidation. The process was ‘pushed’ by each country so failed transmission for what ever reason is always a possibility.

Solution: Spinner resides on the European collecting server and ‘Pulls’ the files by remotely scanning the country server for the presence of the daily file and pulling into Spinner’s archive process (added level of recovery/security) and issuing an email to the appropriate management that that countries file has been successfully received and the number and type of transactions received. The Spinner process then consolidates and passes the file to US and issues an email that that process was completed successfully.
