Malcolm Mitchell
Qualified as a Production Engineer with British Aerospace and first became involved with computers in 1966 for flight
testing and production control. This was followed by IT system development and management roles with Smith Industries
and George Wimpey Construction. In 1979 joined Hewlett-Packard as a system salesman progressing to sales management
encompassing geographic sales teams and UK oil industry. In 1987 took an equity stake in a PC reseller with the role
of Operations and Marketing Director. In 1991 initiated a management buyout of the software side of SMM Communications
and formed SMM Software to develop and market intelligent document processing solutions.
